Think about joining a community of bloggers like Greatest Journal or Live Journal. You should find some people who have your same interests, including blogging.
There can be communities of bloggers on just about any type of subject, and, if the chance arises that you cannot find a community that fits for you, go ahead and make a community that others can join. You can advertise your blog there.
You can join any number of communities without worrying that there is a limit to the amount of communities you are able to join. If, for example, you are blogging on books, skiing and horseback riding, you can join communities on all of those different interests.
Post a post that relates to the community and it’s possible that you can find people interested in reading your own blog. Don’t resort to a one-sentence blog. Write something interesting and sincere so they know your blog is actually worth reading.
You can best advertise your blog by joining communities and sending traffic in that direction. You can link back to your blog if you are commenting on something pertinent to that blog.
When you are posting a comment on another person’s blog, it shouldn’t look like just an advertisement for your blog. People won’t travel to your blog if it looks just like you are there for the advertisement. In fact, they could ban you from the community altogether.
